]]>The main focus of this Vista Theme is the “eye” of HAL 9000 looking back at the computer operator. As far as we know, it doesn’t talk or dulcet tones or make your Windows Vista PC go crazy.
In terms of design, this is one of the darker Vista themes to be released recently, and dark color palettes are often the hardest to co-ordinate and pull off with style, the Smooth Hal 9000 theme manages just that, so full credit to the theme creator for that work.

Clearlooks for Vista Beta 1.1 is, as the name suggests, a clear, clean and crisp style for Windows Vista. This theme uses a lot of transparency and a generally sparse appearance, with nice, clear and bold icons. Uncluttered and user friendly, it will be interesting to see how this particular line of Vista Themes matures and progresses.

There are plenty of details, explanations and instructions on installing this Vista Theme on the download page which should answer any questions you have, but before you take the leap you should be aware of certain prerequisites, such as Windows Vista 32-Bit (Home Premium or Business or Ultimate), VistaGlazz (The shortcut to enabling themes for Vista and WinRAR or similar. Those familiar with customizing your Windows Vista install should have at least all of those things by now.
Aquos is in part an almagomation of other Vista Themes and visuals styles, wallpaper and such, and full credit is rewarded to those who have contributed on the download page, but already this theme is proving popular and shows sometimes the outcome of a project can be more than its component parts.

Due to the configuration of this Vista visual style it is only compatible with Aero or Basic 32 bit and 64 bit English Only, however it is Vista SP1 ready.
This particular style has been a long time in the making, even if the final edition has appeared only a relatively short time after version 2.0, and has a strong following, download link after the thumbnail image if you want to find out for yourself just why that is.

This visual style is white and glossy, clean, well made, and professional in appearance.
The updated version shown here, like many updates to Vista Themes, is relatively minor, and includes a new menu bar, among other visual tweaks and additions.

Apparently the 80s are back in fashion, with a twist, and maybe this particular style will be an indication of Vista themes to come in the future. But maybe not, just thinking out loud here.
We do think this Vista style has something going for it, the style us fairly unique, large icons and crisp, generally dark and high contrast color scheme work well and provide clarity. It’s a bit of a rough diamond maybe, but Torched7 could be one to watch out for for future Vista Themes.

The theme is called Platinum, maybe a bit of a showy name we agree, but Vista Themes creator r3c1pr0c17y has created a very good, classy vista visual style for sure, and what is better, is that the theme is also well supported for bug fixes and updates. Excellent.
Your Windows Vista system will require patching, VistaGlazz, and a tiny bit of effort on your behalf, but the rewards surely are worth it.

We’ve seen Vista Themes in all colors and flavors, but VUbuntu has to be the first real attempt at making Vista look and feel like Ubunto.
The theme is still in the Beta stage, so as ever with beta software, install at your own risk. Full details available on the download page, credit to in-dolly for the hard work and impressive progress so far.
